The Provost’s IT Projects and Information Services Team supports the Office of the Provost and related units with a range of technical support and expertise.
The IT team creates solutions to enhance services and business processes, assists in acquiring commercial off-the-shelf products, serves the general IT needs of the units under the Provost’s office, creates and supports the websites for the units under the Office of the Provost, supports the reporting and data needs of the offices,  represents the Provost’s Office in university IT governance activities and acts as the liaison with the university’s central ITU, coordinating IT activities and projects with the ITU.

The team has helped to develop and maintain over fifty websites for various offices.  It has also developed specialized web applications to assist in process automation and managing information for various departments such as Sponsored Programs, Global Initiatives, Students as Scholars, Undergraduate Studies, etc.   Examples include the Mason Global Register, which captures information on the university’s many global activities and makes it accessible in one location, and the OSCAR Application, which allows student scholars to apply for The Undergraduate Research Scholars Program and for the department to manage the review award process.
